It seems like all signs point one way for television personality Kim Kardashian and her rapper beau Kanye West: North!
The happy pair welcomed their first child, a daughter, on June 15 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. And while their little girl has some big shoes to fill given the fame of both her parents, it looks like she's already learned a thing or two about how to make an entrance!
West, 36, and Kardashian, 32, have christened their daughter North West. This distinctive moniker, which has already been the subject of plenty of media buzz, has fans of the duo speculating that it may be directional. However, a source close to the couple revealed that this isn't the case.
Reportedly, the pair picked the name North because it represents more than just a place of travel. "What's North of North? Nothing," the insider, who is close to West and Kardashian, told TMZ.
In addition, the source revealed that West and Kardashian, who have been dating since April 2012, "believe North is their highest point together as a couple" and that she represents a "North Star" for them.
While this romantic notion may not be enough to convince some people of the name's inspirational quality, it certainly seems loaded with meaning for Kardashian and West.
Their little girl made quite a name for herself in other ways, as Kardashian reportedly gave birth five weeks early. North weighed 4 pounds and 15 ounces upon her delivery, but is supposed to be in great shape!
