After all those months of getting ready for baby, it’s finally here – the moment that the world has been waiting for! Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, recently gave birth to a bouncing baby boy named George Alexander Louis.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted this morning to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London, in the early stages of labor,” said a spokesman for the royal family on July 22. “The Duchess traveled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.”
Middleton went into the hospital shortly before 6 a.m. with her husband, Prince William, by her side, and gave birth to the baby later in the day on July 22. This is the first child for the royal pair, who met at the University of St. Andrews and were married in 2011 after a long courtship.
Prince George Alexander Louis will become third in line to the throne of Great Britain, after his father, Prince William and his grandfather, Prince Charles. He is sure to get plenty of love from not just Middleton, a first time mother, and Prince William, but the whole world, too!
