The Dockatot is such a simple product. When I first received it, I had no idea what an everyday essential it would become. It came in very handy when my mother-in-law came to help out with my newborn, allowing the baby to sleep next to her in the guest bedroom. It moved around the house to different locations as we pleased. The design of the Dockatot Deluxe is sleek and very high quality. The cotton cover is thick and soft to touch. The surrounding cushion is just snug enough so the baby can’t easily turn over, and the size is just right so the baby feels tight, secure and able to fall asleep easily.
After using this product on a daily basis for the past two months, I’d rate it on a scale of 1-5 stars as follows:
- Portability (5 stars): The Dockatot Deluxe allows me to move around the house and have my baby sleep close by wherever I go. It’s lightweight and easily maneuvered around the house.
- Quality (5 stars): The product is made with nice thick organic cotton. The construction is solid yet breathable.
- Value (4 stars): While I love everything about it, the Dockatot Deluxe is a bit spendy. It costs around $168 and a newborn will outgrow it in about 3-6 months. The next size up is called the Dockatot Grand, and it runs close to $290.
- Ease of cleaning (4 stars): The cover has zippers and comes off easily, but zipping the cushion back into the cover is a different story since it fits really snug. I have the white cotton version, which also makes stain, such as from baby spit-up, more visable. Even though I’ve washed it a couple of times (without bleach), some spit-up stains are still noticeable.
My last tip is that the Dockatot only works well on flat surfaces. One of my couches has a slightly angled seat and causes a slope that my baby does not sleep well in. Overall, I am very happy with the product and I highly recommend it. In fact, a few of my friends have bought the Dockatot based on my recommendations on social media and they all love it.
