"Homeland" is fast becoming Babyland for the crew of this hit Showtime series, because actress Morena Baccarin, 33, is currently expecting her first child with husband Austin Chick.
Baccarin stars on "Homeland" as Jessica Brody, the wife of Nicholas Brody, a former marine. The show is currently filming its third season, and Baccarin's off-screen pregnancy will evolve as the season shoots.
While Baccarin's character isn't slated to become pregnant on the show, the actress reveals that the crew has plenty of experience with concealing a pregnancy. Last year, lead actress Claire Danes revealed she was expecting a baby, and later delivered a son with husband Hugh Dancy.
"I was a little freaked out about telling the show – just because, as a woman, [I had] a sense of responsibility to my job and I suddenly felt like, 'Am I going to be disappointing everybody that I'm knocked up?' But life goes on," said Baccarin at the Variety EMMY Studio "Race to Emmy Red Carpet" event at West Hollywood's Palihouse Hotel.
Yet, according to Baccarin, the crew and staff of "Homeland" have been kind regarding her pregnancy and have developed methods for concealing a growing baby bump.
Baccarin and her husband got married in 2011. For Baccarin, who formerly appeared in the cult classic "Firefly," the arrival of her little boy or girl is sure to be a joyous one indeed!
