The warm weather is finally here and, with it, a refreshing of the wardrobe. If you’re pregnant or a new mom with the typical increase in shoe size, you have even more reason to welcome the longer, sunny days of summer with a new pair of shoes! This year, I’m celebrating the season with a pair of classy Dawn Sandals ($159), while my 4-year-old daughter enjoys a new pair of dazzling pink, Merino wool-lined Sparkle Lo Boots ($69). The Dawn Sandals lend my petite stature some much welcome height with 3” heels. As one who doesn’t normally wear heels and who is generally somewhat wobbly when doing so, I’ve been grateful for the Dawn’s rubber soles, egg-shaped heels and adjustable ankle straps that lend stability, keeping me upright and poised. I love pairing my Dawn Sandals with casual jeans, a lightweight spring dress or a more serious pair of slacks. They really work with everything! My daughter was thrilled when her boots arrived right on the heels of mommy’s sandals (pun fully intended). She couldn’t wait to put on her new sparkly, pink boots, and her little brother was soon to follow. I can understand – I could barely resist their sparkly charm myself! Plus, their Merino wool-lined interiors provide a plush environment that keeps little feet warm in the cold and cool in the heat. Because these are kids shoes, we had to test that the Sparkle Lo Boots live up to the rough play of a preschooler. We are happy to report that the boots easily survived a trip to the playground and provided enough flexibility and traction for my daughter to enjoy traversing the rope play structure to her heart’s delight. Dual-layered EVA and rubber outsoles, combined with reinforced suede heels, provide confidence that these boots will continue to lend support and comfort for many playground trips to come.
