Picking a baby name can be one of the most exciting – and frustrating – aspects of getting ready for the arrival of your little one. After all, a person’s name is their identity!
Having said that, most would agree that sometimes celebrities go a little overboard with their baby-naming duties. Here are three young tots who may be having a serious conversation with dear old mom and dad when they realize their moniker is slightly bizarre.
Apple Martin. Sure, it’s a lovely fruit, but the only daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin may be a bit perturbed about being named after the food when she’s a little older. At least they didn’t go with Banana.
Sparrow James Midnight Madden. We think this would have worked as a middle name, but Sparrow is not only slightly feminine-sounding – it’s a bird! We think Nicole Richie and Benji Madden were more on-the-money with their daughter Harlow.

Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren could have turned to a number of different virtues when looking for baby-naming inspiration – Grace, Hope and Faith are just a few – but instead they went with the most unfortunate one of the bunch. Let’s hope the duo is more on-target after their second child makes their way into the world this fall.
